Economy in Villavicencio

  Villavicencio is a highly developed city which is supported by its livestock, agriculture, commerce and mining; these are a financial resource that contribute to the development of all the “Llanos Orientales”. Nowadays, this city has gotten a growing economic development thanks to the commercial sector and the centers of agricultural and agro-industrial companies of the whole Llano. Also, oil and gas exploitation are an important part of the region’s mining.

Some of the most important sectors for the development of this beautiful city and to produce employment in the Llano are:

The agricultural sector: in which rice, soybeans, corn, fruit trees, cassava, cotton and cocoa are the most important products in the region. 

Livestock sector: Here livestock farming reports about 88,000 head of cattle, which produce many liters of milk daily. 

Mining sector: The soils and subsoil of the “Llano” are of great richness for the habitants of Villavicencio, thanks to the oil fields, which report a daily average of barrels between 90,000 and 100,000 units. 

Financial sector: In the city of Villavicencio there are about fifty banking offices, the majority with ATM services. It also has exchange offices in the main shopping centers such as: “Unicentro”, “Llanocentro”, “Viva Villavicencio”, “VillaCentro”, “los Centauros”.

Tourism Sector: Villavicencio is a beautiful city, which manages to capture thousands of visitors annually, much of its economy is thanks to tourists, who will visit and tour the most exotic places and taste the regional delights that this city offers. 

ECONOMIA EN VILLAVICENCIO

Villavicencio es una ciudad muy desarrollada respaldada por la ganadería, agricultura, el comercio y la minería, los cuales son un recurso financiero que al mismo tiempo contribuyen al desarrollo de todos los llanos orientales. Actualmente, esta ciudad a alcanzado un desarrollo económico creciente gracias al sector comercial y a los centros de industria agropecuaria y agroindustrial de todo el Llano. Así mismo, la explotación de gas y petróleo hacen parte importante de la minería de la región.

Algunos de los sectores más importantes para el desarrollo de esta hermosa ciudad y para la producción de empleo en el Llano son:  

El Sector agrícola: En el cual se encuentran: arroz, soya, maíz, frutales, yuca, algodón y cacao, como los productos más importantes de la región.  

Sector pecuario:  Aquí la ganadería bovina reporta unas 88 000 cabezas de ganado, los cuales producen muchos litros de leche diaria. 

Sector minero:  los suelos y subsuelos del llano son de gran riqueza para los habitantes de Villavicencio, gracias a los yacimientos de petróleo, los cuales reportan un promedio diario de barriles entre 90 000 y 100 000 unidades.  

Sector financiero:  En la ciudad de Villavicencio se encuentran unas cincuenta oficinas bancarias, la gran mayoría con servicios de cajeros automáticos. Cuenta también con oficinas de cambios en los principales centros comerciales como Unicentro, Llanocentro, Viva Villavicencio, Villacentro, Los Centauros. 

Sector de Turismo: Villavicencio es una ciudad hermosa, la cual logra capturar a miles de visitantes anualmente, gran parte de su economía es gracias a los turistas, quienes van a visitar y recorrer los lugares más exóticos y a probar las delicias regionales que brinda esta ciudad.
