"LOS OCARROS" BIOPARK

Learning about the fauna and flora of the Orinoquia is the main focus of the "Los Ocarros" Biopark, named after a giant "armadillo" that digs the burrows in which it sleeps and that can weigh more than 40 kg. In this place visitors appreciate "anacondas", monkeys, otters, "chigüiros", deer, Orinoco crocodiles,  turtles and bears, and other animals.

Aprender sobre la fauna y la flora de la Orinoquia es el foco principal del Bioparque "Los Ocarros", llamado así por un "armadillo" gigante que cava las madrigueras en las que duerme y que puede pesar más de 40 kg. En este lugar los visitantes aprecian "anacondas", monos, nutrias, "chigüiros", venados, cocodrilos del Orinoco, tortugas y osos, y otros animales.

"LOS FUNDADORES" PARK

This is the largest park in Villavicencio, covering an area of six hectares. It is made up of what could be called several "stations". The first of them is a square in whose center stands the majestic monument to "Los Fundadores", work of renowned artist Rodrigo Arenas Betancourt, Square of the meals, children’s playground, theatre and "Plaza de los Enamorados". Additionally the park offers pedestrian paths for sports or simply contemplative walks.

The Founders' Park also offers a modern water fountain and more than 200 parking spaces.

Este es el parque más grande de Villavicencio, con una superficie de seis hectáreas. Se compone de lo que podría llamarse varias "estaciones". La primera de ellas es una plaza en cuyo centro se encuentra el majestuoso monumento a "Los Fundadores", obra del reconocido artista Rodrigo Arenas Betancourt, Plaza de las comidas, parque infantil, teatro y "Plaza de los Enamorados". Además, el parque ofrece senderos peatonales para deportes o simplemente caminatas contemplativas.

"CRISTO REY"

Cristo Rey is located on the hills that rise above the center of Villavicencio, which also makes it a unique place as a tourist viewpoint over the city and the entire plain. This work was initiated in 1949 by Pedro Eliseo Achury Garavito, who was priest of the cathedral of Villavicencio for the time. The monument was created by José Rama Kers and was inaugurated in 1954.

Cristo Rey se encuentra en las colinas que se elevan sobre el centro de Villavicencio, lo que también lo convierte en un lugar único como punto de vista turístico sobre la ciudad y toda la llanura. Este trabajo fue iniciado en 1949 por Pedro Eliseo Achury Garavito, quien era sacerdote de la catedral de Villavicencio en ese momento. El monumento fue creado por José Rama Kers y fue inaugurado en 1954.

"LOS LIBERTADORES" PARK

Located in front of the Cathedral of "Nuestra Señora del Carmen" and the "Meta Governorate". At this site, which is the main square of the city, there is a water fountain and a huge saman. You can also see the busts of "General Francisco de Paula Santander" and "Simón Bolívar", created by Álvaro Vásquez Sánchez. 

Ubicado frente a la Catedral de "Nuestra Señora del Carmen" y la "Gobernación del Meta". En este sitio, que es la plaza principal de la ciudad, hay una fuente de agua y un gran saman. También puedes ver los bustos de "General Francisco de Paula Santander" y "Simón Bolívar", creado por Álvaro Vásquez Sánchez.
