The shield of Villavicencio is a heraldic symbol that represents the Colombian municipality of Villavicencio.The shield of this city is inspired by the beauty of the plains and has a modern French design.
Sun
The shield shows the sun with seven rays rising above the horizon of the sky, symbolizing the splendor, the light, the power, the wealth that the city possesses, the wisdom, the nobility, the virtues, the emergence and vitality of the llanera people.
The wheel
It is a wheel that has a wing on each side rising on the blu sky. The sun's rays on the inside of the shield symbolize the progress, modernity and progress of the city.The Palm trees
On the left side of the shield are two palm trees that represent the morichales, remembering the beautiful landscapes that are part of the most important historical pickpockets of the Colombian municipality.
The river
It is the central element of the shield that passes through the middle of the city, crossing the plain through water waves. It represents the Guatiquía river located in the Chiganza Páramo of the Quetame municipality, which bathes the immense plain of Villavicencio.
Head of cattle
Located on the left side of the shield under the palm trees, the head of cattle is black and represents livestock production, work, nobility, obligation, perseverance, crops, defense of life, food and religion.

La Bandera...
La bandera de Villavicencio fue adoptada el 23 de octubre del año de 1970 y se compone de tres franjas horizontales de igual tamaño. La primera franja es de color azul brillante, la segunda franja es de color verde y la tercera franja es de color rojo.
La franja azul: Este color simboliza el agua; más específicamente, se refiere a los numerosos ríos y a la inmensa importancia que tiene la hidrografía en esta región.
La franja verde: Esta franja representa lo que más caracteriza a esta ciudad: sus verdes y grandes planicies o llanos, también se refiere a la agricultura; la base de la economía de este territorio.
La franja de color rojo: se agregó para tener siempre en cuenta todo lo que se luchó para tener una patria digna y libre.
El Escudo...
El escudo de Villavicencio es un símbolo heráldico que representa al municipio colombiano de Villavicencio.El escudo de esta ciudad esta inspirado en la belleza de los llanos y tiene un moderno diseño francés.
El sol
El escudo muestra el sol con siete rayos que se levantan sobre el horizonte del cielo, simbolizando el esplendor, la luz, el poder, las riquezas que posee la cuidad, la sabiduría, la nobleza, las virtudes, el surgimiento y la vitalidad del pueblo llanero.
La rueda
Es una rueda que posee un ala a cada lado elevándose entre el azul de los cielos. Los rayos del sol en la parte interior del escudo simboliza el avance, la modernidad y el progreso de la cuidad.
Las palmeras
En el lado izquierdo del interior del escudo se encuentran dos palmeras que representan los morichales, recordando los hermosos paisajes que forman parte de las carteristas históricas más importantes del municipio colombiano.
El río
Es el elemento central del escudo que pasa por el medio de la ciudad, recorriendo por medio de ondas de agua la llanura. Representa el río Guatiquía ubicado en el Páramo de Chiganza del municipio Quetame, que baña la inmensa llanura de Villavicencio.
La cabeza de ganado
Ubicado en el lado izquierdo del interior del escudo bajo las palmeras, la cabeza de ganado es de color negro y representa la producción ganadera, el trabajo, la nobleza, la obligación, la constancia, los cultivos, la defensa de la vida, los alimentos y la religión.
